Fresh Orange Light Gloss Text Effects
I learned this new text effect and just had to share it with you! It’s a awesome clean glossy text effect! So easy, and such an awesome effect, you’ll enjoy it!

Yeah, that’s right. I can’t claim credit for this. I am just converting it from Photoshop to Paint Shop Pro, since the steps are quite different. I’ve been wanting to do this for years (and after a long break from remembering to re-try it) and I finally did it. So easy! I can’t belive I couldn’t do it before. Step 1
Make a new image with dimensions of 500×500 pixels and a white background. Next, on a new layer, add some text (I choose the letter “Q”) with the following font settings and color:

Now center it and save the selection to the alpha channel (selections > Load/Save Selection > Save Selection to Alpha Channel).
Step 2
Expand the selection by 4 pixels (selections > modify > expand > 4px) (Adjust pixels for the size of your text) and apply a drop shadow.
Deselect and you should have this:
Step 3
Make a new Raster Layer. Then load your selection from the alpha channel and contract the selection 4px. Deselect this portion of the selection:
Now use the White-to-Transparent gradient and fill it in. Set the layer blending mode to Overlay and lower the Opacity to 70%.
Conclusion
That’s all to this simple and effective tutorial. Sweet, clean, effect that’s really easy. Here’s what I got by adding a background:
