Make a Simple Border & Record the Action for Later Use
I discovered scripts the other day. You can record your actions, and anytime, apply them to another photo by clicking a photo. Don’t worry about finding the effects again, or what settings you used. For this example we’ll make a nice, simple border for our images.
Step 1
Load your image in Paint Shop Pro. Then go to File > Scrips > Run.
Step 2
Next go to Image > Add Border and use these settings:
Repeat it twice and change the settings accordingly.
Step 3
Now go to File > Script > Save Script and choose a name for it (save it in the default directory for scripts). Now, anytime you want to add borders, go to File > Script > Run and select your file. You might have to click OK on some dialogs, but it goes much quicker then doing it manually.
Conclusion
Recording scripts can make things really easy later, if you have a lot of photos you want to, for example, add borders to. And you can also batch edit them with the File > Batch Process dialog. Select all the photos you want, select a script, and it applies that script to ALL the photos. So you can have a script that resizes your photos to web-safe sizes and adds borders, and you can do this with a hundred photos if you wanted.

Here are images I’ve used the borders on.
