Files Needed:
Download this image, this is our mask image. You’ll need it:
Step 1
Launch Corel Video Studio and insert your video clip. I’m using a quick video I recorded from a video game. Copy it, and paste it (note: this step is not needed if your clip is already in the video pane). You can see the video now in the video’s pane (the place with all the thumbnails).
Step 2
Now let’s add a video filter. Select the Zoom Motion filter from the Video Filters pane and drag it unto your video. Then click the Customize Filter button, and for the start and end keyframes, set the blur value to 50. Set the mode to Camera. Click OK.
Step 3
Now go to “Share” and click Create Video File and choose Same as First Video. This will render it with the same settings as the first video, insuring you get the same quality and size. Choose a name and location for it and click the SAVE button. This video’s thumbnail now appears in the Video’s pane also.
Step 4
Click the video in the timeline and drag it to the video Overlay Track 1. Remove the zoom motion filter and under Alignment Options, click Fit to Screen. Now drag your new video you made in step 3 to Video Track.
Step 5
Now click the video on Overlay Track 1 and go to Mask & Chroma Key. Click Apply Overlay Options and choose Mask from the drop down box. Click the + Sign and find/load the mask image you downloaded.
Conclusion
Wait for it to refresh and you can see our effect. The motion blur is applied heavily but with the center portion more clear, so it looks like a zoom-motion effect. A quick and easy way to make a great zoom effect.
